From Char Frankenberry
Hello UMW members. In order to promote the Reading Program, a program called Special Feature Books has been started. There are 5 Special Feature Books - one in each category. They are
Education for Mission: Getting to the Heart of Interfaith: Hope-filled Friendship of a Pastor, a Rabbi and a Sheikh $17.00
Leadership Development - new catergory - Half the Sky: Turning Oppression into Opportunity for Women Worldwide $16.00
Nurturing for Community - Inheriting the Trade: A Northern family confronts its legacy as the largest slave-trading dynasty in US history $16
Social Action - Claiming the Earth as Common Ground: The ecological Crisis through the lens of faith $17
Spiritual Growth - Contemplative Crocohet - A hands-on guide for interlocking faith and craft $17.
These 5 books come as a kit - I will order them this way - for only $70.48 - a 15% discount
You can also add on a Children's book - Kiki's Hats - this is a lively story of a spunky and lovable woman who knits two hats - one to keep and one to give away - $17 but receive the 15% discount for a total for the 6 books for $84.89.
Please let me know if you are interested in ordering this Special Feature Books - either the 5 book set or the 6 book set - by the end of the week and you will be able to pick them up at the Annual Gathering in Grand Rapids or at Dote.
Thanks a lot for answering - with the addition of the new catergory Leadership Development, it is my understanding that to complete any of the plans, you can choose books from any 4 of the 5 categories. Confused - email me with questions
